Roving Report: What’s New in SEO Today?

Over 15 years ago, copywriter Heather Lloyd-Martin found her niche. The owner of an SEO firm hired her to write content, and Heather discovered that everything she learned about SEO tied into copywriting.

She became an SEO specialist, and later created the first certification program for SEO copywriting (available through AWAI).

Recently Heather invited Wealthy Web Writers to join her on a teleconference call with members of her SEO Copywriting Certificate Program.

The purpose of the teleconference was for Heather’s students to ask her questions, in an informal setting, about what’s happening today in the world of SEO copywriting.

I’m your Roving Reporter, Susanna Perkins, here to put the teleconference in writing for you. I’ve omitted a couple of questions that were specifically about the certificate program itself, but you can hear them, along with the entire teleconference, HERE.

Question #1: Are there any recent changes in SEO ranking?

“That’s a really timely question,” Heather laughed, “because just yesterday Google changed things up again.”

In fact, Google is constantly changing their algorithms to give people the best possible search results. As a copywriter — even if you don’t specialize in SEO — you should stay abreast of SEO best practices.

The Google Knowledge Graph

Google just introduced the Knowledge Graph. Heather expects this change to strongly impact local search.
