Heather’s Picks for July 16th

writing headlines for the web

Heather Robson here.

I was expecting a relaxing summer without much to do besides the normal work stuff and a lot of time playing in the pool. Somehow, though, my summer has filled up and I’m super-busy.

Even with the busy schedule, though, I’m consistently amazed by how much I learn when I spend just ten or fifteen minutes browsing through the Wealthy Web Writer site. For example…

In the last couple of weeks, both Mindy Tyson-McHorse and John Wood have shared some ideas for staying productive. You know how you start out on a project feeling like you have all the time in the world and then suddenly your deadline is on top of you and you’re pulling an all-nighter just to get things in on time? There’s a law to describe that and Mindy and John both give you a ton of ways to beat that law and get more done.

One of Mindy’s tips is to declutter not just your office space but your living space, too. She inspired me to tackle the upstairs of my house, which was constantly nagging at me. I feel so much better—lighter, more creative and more focused. Check out Mindy’s blog post and John’s article and then share in the comments what you’re doing to boost your productivity.

Plus John Torre is kicking off a series in his blog on what it takes for a web copywriter to become independent. From organizational skills to commitment to building a brand and creating a successful business plan, John is going to cover everything you need to succeed. Don’t miss his first post on the topic and weigh in with your questions in the comments area!

Plus Nick held a great event the other day where he took listeners step-by-step through his process of creating a successful landing page. This is like a case study in action and well worth viewing. The webinar playback is up on the site, so be to check it out.

Also, Wealthy Web Writer member Stacey Morris poses this question on the forum:

“Is there some way to present SEO as something so incredibly valuable…that no business should be without it? Has anyone had good experiences with adding SEO to their repetoire?” Check out her full post and share your experiences!

That’s all for now. I look forward to seeing you on the site!
