Your 12-Step Roadmap to Becoming a Well-Paid, Working Web Writer

Module 1: Welcome to the Wealthy Web Writer!

Welcome To YOUR Community Of Like-Minded Web Writers

Congratulations on taking the first step toward building your own profitable, freedom-filled web-writing career! The Wealthy Web Writer is a community-oriented site filled with interactive elements designed to move you forward as quickly as possible.

Our members come from a variety of backgrounds, from retirees to new parents to those just looking for a change. Our members also represent every stage in the web-writing journey.

So, whether you’re brand-new to the field (welcome — you’re not alone!) or you’re already raking in six-figures (we’ve got a lot of those, too!), you’ll play an integral role in making this community rewarding.

How To Make The Most Of This Website

Our goal is to make sure you get the most value out of your membership. So, let’s start by going over some of the most important elements of this site.

Be A Voice In Our Community

One of the greatest strengths of the Wealthy Web Writer is the sense of community. We’re here to help you celebrate your successes and to pull you through any challenges you encounter.

Because of that, it’s important for us to get to know you. We want you to share your thoughts, questions, and reactions, pretty much whenever the mood strikes you! You can do that through:

  • Wealthy Web Writer Forum: Our interactive forum, exclusively for Wealthy Web Writer Platinum members, is a place for you to get advice, ask questions, tap information, and find a wealth of business-building knowledge. Here’s the direct link: Remember, there’s no such thing as a stupid question, so ask whatever you want to know and we’ll see what we can dig up.
  • Comments: At the bottom of every article and webinar is a place for you to comment. Let us know your thoughts. Share any questions or similar experiences you’ve had. We’ll be sure to respond!
  • Ratings: It’s important for us to know which articles help you the most. You can use the five-star rating system at the bottom of every entry. Your ratings will not be linked back to your name.

And, we want you to set up your Gravatar! Short for “Globally Recognized Avatar,” a Gravatar is an image that appears beside your name when you write a comment or post something in the forum. It’s a way for us to put a face to a name and it helps “humanize” you, which is important when your work-community is based online.

To set up your Gravatar, simply go to this site, upload a photo of yourself along with the email address linked to your Wealthy Web Writer membership, and you’re all set! The next time you write something here on the site, your Gravatar will appear. Need more help? Check out this 3-Minute Guru Video.

  • Thanks Rebecca for this great 12 step program, I just found it online and I can’t wait to get started!

  • I am so excited to get through this module. The sooner I get through this, the sooner I can enjoy a career instead of a job!

    • Great attitude, George! Glad to have you back and pushing forward. Keep us posted on your web-writing success!

  • I’m so glad I finally got started with this plan! I’m in COS, but I really want to get jump-started quickly on my freelance copywriting career. I’ve written down my goals and am in the process of getting much more specific with them, which right now involves studying Copywriting 2.0 and Profitable Freelancing (thanks, Rebecca, for helping me with my CAP plan on the COS call!), and working on specs to show potential clients. And kudos for putting this all together – now I know where I need to go!

  • I am so glad that I never gave up, I am going to be 66 in a few months and I don’t want to set in a rocking chair and hear my arteries getting hard, I want to keep my mind as active as possible! With copy writing I can travel and still be a writer!

  • There is a ton of information here…I am going through the accelerated program through AWAI also. I am happy to be a part of this, since I only recently found awai and these programs.

I am simply trying to go through the steps and write everyday and plan to work on it until I reach the milestones I want to reach.

I am reaching for more freedom in the immediate future, but also for later in my life. I want to become well established and maintain that freedom from here out.

I hope to make a solid contribution to this site over time.

  • Wow certainly an inspiring amount of content to soak in. Thank you for creating this and giving me the push to move forward. Cheers!

  • I’m still going through the all the recommended articles and webinars, but it’s Josh Boswell’s 5 C’s that I really need to put into action. Find my clarity, have some confidence, look for some courage, commit to one of the programs AWAI offers, and consistently work at it. Instead of me giving up because I’m scared.

Wish me luck I’m going to need all I can get.

Thanks for the articles and webinars, they are encouraging. Now I just have to finish them?

  • I am so glad that this module has a section of articles on Setting Your Home Life Up For Success. Since I am a stay at home mom, and since this is definitely unconventional in the sense that it isn’t a 9 to 5 job, it’s sometimes hard for me to treat my freelance career as a priority. This will definitely help!

  • I’ve logged in and attempted to take a look at the forum at using both Chrome and IE, but the page is largely blank and there doesn’t appear to be any forum there. It appears there is a closed Facebook community but, despite being logged in, I am not able to access it.

  • I just joined and started working through this program. One thing that you should consider going forward is making all of your links to other pages open in a new browser window. It’s frustrating to click on a link, read through and perhaps click on other links, then when I am ready to return to the original page I have find it in my browser history. The original page should always be open to return to.

    • DITTO to Marc Bollon’s Post.

Did I say, ” The original page should always be open to return to?”

  • Wow, I am impressed with all of the information here. I look forward to working through it all!
