Choose Your Web-Writing Business Direction

Get Ready For The Latest Trends In Web Writing

Now that you have an overview of the web-writing world, it’s time to start working on your business direction.

In this module, we’re going to fill you in on all the best opportunities for web writers. We’ll walk you through the major web-writing specialties so you can decide which areas you’re most excited about.

Following that, we’ll show you how to avoid getting overwhelmed as you sort through all the information about your chosen niche.

Time To Specialize!

One of the biggest roadblocks for new web writers is the tendency to want to try everything. It’s understandable why this temptation is strong — after all, there are scores of terrific ways to maximize your web-writing income.

Plus, it’s easy to feel pulled in different directions when you first get started. With so many possibilities, how do you choose? Where do you start? Should you even specialize when you’re first starting out?

Our answer to that last question is YES! Pick one skill and launch your business. You can always add additional skills down the road. When it comes to web writing, things are constantly changing. This means you need to consistently invest in yourself, your business, and your future, so you’re highly likely to pick up new skills even as you focus on just one thing.

Eventually, you’ll be ready to branch out in multiple areas. But for now, it’s important to focus on one niche since you’ll spend a lot of time reading about and researching your chosen market.

  • The first 2 links on this page work because those sections of the page are available. When I see this web page, the last 3 links do not work because those sections of the page are not available. Rather than “Specific Types of Web Copy Specialties” following the “Time to Specialize” section, I have the Categories section of the page. I noticed similar issues in Module 2. Please let me know if this is a glitch on my computer or if these pages are purposely left incomplete. Thank you.

  • The niche I’m focused on is in the B2B area. As for now I’m practicing my writing by copying past controls. My question…is there any place where I can get practice assignments?

  • Links on the Summit page to bring up the Summit recording seem not to work… Is this a glitch in my computer? I note that it may have been recorded some years ago. Perhaps the info is being updated?

    • Hi Zenzele,

The Summit is outdated and no longer on the site. We just missed this link when we did the site-wide update. Sorry about that.
