I hate to say it, but I really am a clutter-bug … and it’s pulling me down professionally.
Despite my best efforts last year to curb the clutter and stay tidy, things are once again out of control.
I can’t find anything the first time I look. Half the time, I never do find what I need. (Confession: My driver’s license was missing for eight months last year. Clearly, I have a problem.)
If you believe in the Suze Orman school of thought, clutter creates obstacles to financial wealth. It distracts us from what’s important, slows us down, and leads to sloppiness.
That’s certainly true in my office. When I spend an hour trying to find something, that’s an hour I wasn’t writing, wasn’t earning, and wasn’t moving forward on my goals.
