Roving Report: Set It and Forget It

Recently, a web writer shocked Jay White with a question.

Jay is an autoresponder expert and the author of AWAI’s Autoresponder Apprentice program, yet this particular question floored him. It was about creating and using an autoresponder sequence to market a copywriting business to clients.

“Using autoresponders to market myself to clients is something that never occurred to me until he asked that question,” Jay admitted.

On July 31, Jay told a group of Wealthy Web Writers, “It’s hot and dry here in the Ozark Mountains, so I’ve been spending a lot of time hanging out in the air conditioning and coming up with interesting approaches to autoresponders.”

Hang onto your virtual hats while we step through Jay’s new plan for using your copywriting and autoresponder skills to market yourself to your prospects and clients.

You can find the complete replay of his webinar HERE.

What You Need to Make This Work

To make Jay’s plan work, you first need five things:

  1. Your own copywriting website
  2. An opt-in form on the site
  3. A free giveaway, something you’re offering to encourage opt-ins
  4. An autoresponder service
  5. Autoresponder emails — the actual messages you’ll send

#1. Put Up Your Website

Your website is like a storefront. Since you’re offering your services online, you need a virtual shop visible online as well.

Susanna Perkins

Susanna was dragged back, kicking and screaming, into freelancing after losing her job in the banking meltdown in March, '09. One 3-month stint in an appalling temp job persuaded her to get serious about establishing herself as web writer. In March, 2012, she moved to a small town in Panama with her husband and three small dogs. After enjoying the writer's life in the culture of "buenas" and "mañana" for 2-1/2 years, she's returned to the US. At least for now.
