The Reality Blog: Handing Over the Reins of the Reality Blog

Winding asphalt road bends around a corner in the mountains over Death Valley National Park.

The Reality Blog: Big Changes AheadDear Web Writer,

I knew this day would come, but it’s come all too fast. Over the past three years, I’ve shared my personal experiences with you about the writer’s life.

Some things have been so exciting, like landing big projects and successfully completing them to the customer’s satisfaction. Others have been scary, like the time police banged on my door and told me to evacuate my home!

Soon, new Reality Bloggers will fill this space and share their journeys as they build their web-writing careers. They will have different stories to tell. But I’m sure there will be a common theme. Living the writer’s life is so awesome!

Congratulations to Our Reality Blog Finalists!

This post is not my final good-bye … that will come next month, in December. But I want to take this opportunity to congratulate the five finalists for The Reality Blog Challenge.

Out of dozens of entrants, the finalists are:

  • Randi Anderson
  • Sherri Caldwell
  • Thomas Coalson
  • Candice Lazar
  • Hayley Michaels

It’s going to be tough to choose the final two. I’m reading the weekly posts each one is doing this month on Wealthy Web Writer. I tell you … they are good!

I hope you are reading their posts, too, because just like you can vote for your favorite on America’s Got Talent, you get to vote for your favorite two bloggers in December!

There is no doubt that next year will be ramped up with the best and most promising web writers to help you discover and carve out your own path to success.

  • Thank you for your generous and inspiring words, Marianne– and for setting such a great example with The Reality Blog!

  • Thank you, Marianne!

And thanks for sharing how your scope has changed since starting out…I find that really inspiring. Right now I can’t imagine myself tackling “big projects,” mostly because I’m a bit overwhelmed with full-time work and other, smaller projects. But it’s nice to see that your appetite can grow with time and experience. 🙂

  • Thanks for your kind words, Marianne. I echo Randi and often feel the same way. It’s great to see what we may find ourselves looking forward to as we gain experience. We certainly have a lot to live up to with three fantastic outgoing Reality Bloggers. Thanks again.

  • Thank you for sharing this post Marianne.

Like my fellow challengers have said, we have big shoes to fill! It’s also inspiring to read how we can grow, even if we can’t imagine it right now.

    Thanks again and God bless.

  • I am looking forward to seeing more of your contributions, ladies. It is so exciting to see who will be the new reality bloggers. However, if you end up not being a finalist, you can still write for Wealthy Web Writer. Heather Robson is always looking for fresh ideas about being a web writer.

Your kind words are such a great send-off! I’m inspired more than ever to keep growing 🙂

  • Marianne: Your posts have ben as refreshing as they have been informative. You will be missed, but hopefully not for long. I’m sure we’ll be hearing from you in the future! Thank you so much for your comments and insight. I think that I speak for us all when I say that, no matter which two of us are chosen, we will have some pretty big shoes to fill. Thanks again, and we all wish you the best in the days to come.
