Did you know that many top copywriters and web writers spend up to half their time conducting research?

Or that many top marketers — the ones who hire writers — rate curiosity as one of the top traits they look for when bringing on a freelancer to write for them?

The research you do before you write is what will set your work apart from everyone else. Instead of turning in a piece that is simply a rehashing of information that is already out there, good research will help you find fresh angles, tell new stories, and ultimately deliver better results.

During this live webinar, join Heather Robson to learn some of the best research strategies you can use to:

  • Internalize what you’re learning so that it comes through naturally in your writing.
  • Locate facts and stories that are not mainstream, so that your writing has a more original feel to it.
  • Discover connections that others haven’t.
  • Find new information from primary sources, which will make your work truly unique.
  • And much more.

The depth and breadth of your research is key. But you also need to know how to make the most of it. You’ll come away from this session with a better handle on how to do both … and that will make you a stronger writer.

Join us for this valuable, skills-enhancing session.

  • Hi, Heather. I hope you get a look at the submission I just made. It sounds like we’re on similar wavelengths re: writing. (At least I hope so.) I’m traveling in Fla. this week & next, but I’ll try to get on the webinar.

  • Hi, Heather,

Cudos for today’s webinar! The words you chose to tell about each strategy were wrapped in love, showing us how much you really do love the power of great research. Truth be told, researching at this level had been the missing piece for me. So, my gift to you is this: I am using your strategies right away, today, on a project I’m about to start. Not “maybe I’ll try these one of these days,” and then forget about them. No, they’re too good to be back-burnered. I believe better, deeper research will bring more value to what I write.

I don’t often get this excited about learning a new “tool” for my work, so I wanted you to know how much I appreciate learning your strategies.

A Joyous, Merry Christmas to you and your family, and a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous 2016!

  • Hi, Heather! Maybe I’m not looking in the right spot. I missed the call, and wanted to listen to the playback, but I’m having trouble finding it. I searched on the site itself, and I followed the link from your email sent on Dec 23, but both take me to the event page, and not a recording. Is there a section of the website I’m missing?

    thank you!

    • Hi Lisa,
Once the playback is available, it will be posted on the event page … so if it’s not there now, it should be soon.

  • Hello Heather,

Right now, I’m royally “ticked off”, Not at you.

I had an enquiry composed, polished and ready to send to you but, what happens often, I got distracted and accidentally closed this site and LOST a lovely enquiry. . . . Curses#%$%

I’m starting over sans the personality, Just the facts, ma’ma.

A little over a week ago I purchased the $1.00 Wealthy Web Writer and I was informed that you would be the monitor or whatever your moniker for this plan is. Since then I’ve been trying to track you down to get some marching orders toward a successful Copywriter’s Life. Although, I wasn’t just sitting, twiddling my thumbs. I have chased every rabbit on the website and picked up some valuable tad-bits that I think will come in good, down the road.

In my “rabbit chasing” I searched niches and decided on one that I hope you’ll like. It’s in the Information Marketing Category, “Researching”. I am very inquisitive and like to learn new things and I do a ton of researching just for “Me”. In some of the research, I was listening to Rebecca Matter and she mentioned that she thought that researching would be a profitable niche since most writers aren’t into doing it and that they would be willing to outsource it and pay “Good Money”. Is there any other kind?😎 Oops, Personality is raising its “inquisitive” head. [Meanwhile, back to the ranch.] In my researching for a niche I
consulted GoDaddy and by entering a few Keywords I found that ( was available. Yep! I bought it.

    What is our next Step?

    • Hi Luthor,

Welcome to Wealthy Web Writer. I am the Managing Editor of the site, so I’m the one responsible for answering questions, helping you find things, and bringing new content to the site.

Providing research services for direct mail copywriters in the Information Marketing niche can be a viable service.

Your next step would be to define the services you’ll offer and how you’ll charge for them. And then to start researching companies in the niche so that you can let them know who you are and what you do.
