It’s been a little over a month since Bootcamp ended. One theme that has continued to resonate with me since then is the idea of facing your fears.

Nobody enjoys doing it… but it’s critical to our success as writers.

Speaking of success — that’s actually a common fear.

Surprising, I know.

It sounds counterintuitive. After all, success (whatever that means to you) is something most people strive for! It’s what we’re aiming for on our individual paths to the writer’s life!

But there are actually a number of reasons people are afraid of success. Take a look and see if any of these apply to you:

1. You’re afraid of the unknown.

You know what your life is like now. Things will change once you’ve achieved success, but you’re not necessarily sure how. Having to adapt to something new can be difficult for many people, even under positive circumstances.
