6 Post-Bootcamp Takeaways — They’re not what you think!

I’m slowly coming down off my post-Bootcamp high. My suitcase is unpacked and put away. The laundry’s done… well almost. The leftovers that were still in the fridge from before I left have been cleaned out; and the dishes are done.

Gave the kids their souvenirs (aka sorry-you-couldn’t-come-to-Florida gifts).

I finished and submitted the article I had promised to my client this week. And I’ve decided which Job Fair Spec Assignments I’m going to complete and in what order.

Whew! Now I’m finally getting a chance to look through my notes and let it all sink in… so much useful stuff.

Despite the inch-thick spiral-bound booklet full of notes that I brought back, much of what I learned isn’t written. It wasn’t recorded either.

I got so much more from the Bootcamp experience itself. The experience of reconnecting with people I met last year. Of seeing — in person — the people in my peer group… people I’ve begun to build relationships with over the past year… some of whom I met for the first time. People I’ve begun to call friends.

  • Tracy,
I enjoyed you comments about Bootcamp. I have signed up for May 2019. I am just getting started with writing so your honest but encouraging words will keep me going. Hopefully we will meet at Bootcamp. I need an accountability partner as I begin this journey. Thanks again and I would like to keep in touch with you.

    • Thank you, Jane! I’m glad my words are helpful for you. Yes, we will meet up in the future. You’ll meet sooooo many people at Bootcamp who are in the same position as you are. The first one’s a bit overwhelming. Just remember that the sessions are available online afterward, so don’t stress about absorbing all the information. Enjoy the experience! Are you on Facebook or LinkedIn?

      Best of luck to you,
