Reality Blog: When Writing Leads You Into a World of Mistrust and Intrigue

Man with white mask spooky hooded figure silhouette. Black and white.

I had a strange and distinctly uncomfortable experience in January this year. You see, I briefly dabbled in the world of investigative journalism.

How? Well, I wasn’t intending to, it just happened.

And what an eye-opener! Stress, anger, despair, frustration… and a good dose of apprehension. Emotions I wouldn’t normally associate with the process of writing an article for my Money-Making Website.

You see, I started researching an article and uncovered a web of lies, deceit, corruption, and government mismanagement on an industrial scale. Allow me to explain…

A Catastrophe

In Australia right now, a massive environmental disaster is playing out in slow motion. Australia’s largest river system is called the Murray-Darling Basin. And it’s all but dead. We’re talking 20 major rivers, including Australia’s three longest and a total of 46,000 miles of rivers.

The Basin is bigger than Texas and New Mexico (or France and Germany) combined.

It’s also Australia’s food bowl. But food crops have been replaced by huge swathes of water-intensive cotton crops.

You might know that Australia is the second driest continent on earth, after Antarctica. Water is precious… and especially valuable to irrigators.

Now the water has run out.
