A little while ago, we disappeared into the desert for a couple of weeks. We had no internet connection. But that was okay, everything was under control.

You see, I prepared before we vanished into the desert.

I spent several days carefully scheduling posts to Top Wire Traveller, scheduling our fortnightly newsletter on MailChimp, and scheduling social media posts.

So apart from not being able to respond to social media comments, our brand would carry on happily without us.

Or so I thought.

We emerged unscathed from the desert, back into civilization. I’m using the term “civilization” loosely here. It was an outback country town with less than 50 residents. I digress.

After the usual clean-up, refilling of water tanks, buying food, and so on, I checked the social media channels for comments.

Now call me obsessive, but I always check Google Analytics next.

I tell myself I’m just keeping an eye on things. Truth be known, I’m probably hoping to see some magical explosion in site traffic. Anyhow…
