Writing a HomePage – Live Review

Wooden home with a heart on the roof.

Date: May 30, 2019
Time: 3pm, Eastern Time
Topic: Web Writing
Presenter: Heather Robson

Writing a homepage for a client can be tricky.

It needs to be welcoming for first-time visitors and help them to see what the site is about.

It must clearly and concisely convey the site’s purpose, including who it is for and the benefits it offers.

It also needs to invite visitors to take action — to click a link or sign up for an email list… maybe even make a purchase.

During this live review, you’ll get to see the work of your fellow Wealthy Web Writer members on a practice homepage assignment. We’ll look at the brief and at the selected submissions to see what’s working well and what can be stronger.

If you want to learn how to write stronger homepage copy, this review can help you identify key things to make your writing better, so you’re delivering more successful results to your clients.

This event is reserved for Wealthy Web Writer Platinum members. To join us, please log in or become a member today.

  • Thanks so much for the feedback, Heather! And good job to everyone. 🙂

The research you found about the word “spam” makes total sense – I remember seeing similar phrasing to what I used on someone else’s site and thinking there was something a bit off about it, but I figured it was good to include it if others were using it. It’s super helpful to know that having a privacy policy there but rewording it could make such a big difference!

  • Hi Heather, I’m so sorry, this is long overdue! Thank you for reviewing my page. Your feedback on everyone’s page was extremely helpful and seeing the different writing styles is inspiring. I’m looking forward to working on my revision with all the suggested tips.

Thank you again, and to the others who submitted 🙂

    Cheers, Louriann
