There are things you can do today to begin improving your web copywriting skills — many of them, surprisingly, have nothing to do with writing.
That was the big message from Nick Usborne when he met with Wealthy Web Writer members and Managing Editor Heather Robson.
The entire webinar is HERE for your enjoyment.
Whether you’re new to web writing or an experienced copywriter, “You’ll find material here,” he promised.
“Everyone wants tips and tricks,” Nick announced. “Those are tactics, and they can be great. But they’re useless if you don’t have the fundamentals and the strategic approach right.” Instead of focusing on tips and tricks, build a solid foundation.
Nick suggested 12 steps you can take to create that solid foundation on which you’ll base your successful web-writing career.
#1. Start experiencing online marketing with a professional eye
Nick explained that, even though you’re already immersed in the Web every day, you need to start looking at it “with a professional eye.”
You’re familiar with the online space from the visitor’s perspective, but you must develop a professional point of view, that of a professional communicator. This “takes a deliberate effort,” Nick stated.
Every day, he looks at the Web in two different ways, “as a user — a regular person — and as a professional.”
