Build Your Personalized Roadmap to Success

Writing ideas on post-it notes

Date: April 22, 2020
Time: 12pm (noon), Eastern Time
Topic: Getting Started
Presenters: Pam Foster, Rebecca Matter, Heather Robson

When you first start down the path to becoming a freelance web writer, it’s completely normal to have questions about what to do next.

What we’ve found through years of working with writers is that certain actions and habits will put you on the path to success. Too often, newly minted web writers fall into the trap of thinking they need to be perfectly ready before setting up a website, reaching out to clients, and taking on work.

What you really need is a willingness to take action… and to push out of your comfort zone.

To help you with that, Pam Foster, Rebecca Matter, and Heather Robson are going to provide you with zero-resistance steps you can take to get your business set up and moving forward.

Pam will show you the value of choosing a niche, and she’ll take all the fear out of the process.

Rebecca will walk you through the basic materials you need that are also super-easy to create — things like your LinkedIn Profile and your “elevator pitch.”

And then Heather Robson will weigh in on the actual steps you can start taking today — even if you don’t have a website or a single writing sample to your name — to begin the process of making connections that will ultimately result in landing clients.

This is going to be a fun and highly useful webinar. Make sure you don’t miss out!

    • Hi Mary,

I’m sorry you had trouble accessing this event. We did record it and I will post the recording later today.

  • Hi, Super happy this went up today. I am new to this world, however not new to writing, when it was just a dream. Now I want it for real. Problem was, just spent all of yesterday (thank goodness it’s over) spinning out of control with alarms in my head, stop signs at every turn and ultimately dead ends at the end of a very long day. I haven’t yet listened to this, (but later tonight, when all is quiet in the world), however; I am so excited to be calm and make my plan. Thank you so very much, just when I need support the most.

    • Those days are hard. And we all have them from time to time. I still do even after being at this for twenty years. I’m glad you weathered the storm and are excited for the next steps.

  • I am really having a difficult time finding clients. I have sent out hundreds of emails and no one responds, sends me any emails or phones me to ask what I can do to help them. I have gone through many email wording gyrations and changed website providers and still get the same result: ZERO.

How can I resolve this to get my writing business out of a deep rut???

    • Hi Jim,

What kind of companies are you contacting? And if I may ask, would you be willing to share the general gist of your message?
